The Art The Comes Out

Project 1 Image Pair

For this project we were told to take line art images and find common ground between them. Then on a 10×10 area place them in a pairing that was visually interesting. The image pair that I selected is one that is mysterious and secretive.  The images I used were that of a butterfly, an image that I took from a simple children story book, and that of a woman with her finger in the hush motion, an ad for a female product. I placed these images together by placing the butterfly wing over the woman’s face. What I was trying to say with these image pair is that women are expected to be delicate and genital like a butterfly. But most women are not as such and are really mysterious and secretive. These image paired together makes it seem like the woman is hiding her secretive ways behind the idea or image of being a gental and delicate women, like the butterfly.

Photography Final Project

For our final project we were given free roam on anything that we wanted to do. we looked through many different style of photos to give us some sort of idea on what we might want to do. Within the different types we came across a woman who would do different movie scenes, acting them out herself. I though how many people have felt I’m many different people with my different styles. So I decided to do my different personas. I of course had help taking pictures of myself as I would dress in different clothes that would physically show my different selves. I had a great many of them: punk, prep, working woman, hippie, geek, nerd and a girl from the streets of a city in Japan. Each picture tried to show my many different sides. We were to upload six images and then print one. I have all of them here but for the Japanese girl. that on was made into a print.

Typography Movie Posters

These are a few selected movie posters that I am drawn to. Th style is quite interesting and I like the simplistic feel to them.

Photography Observation and Interaction

For this project we were to go to an environment and either observe it or interact with it and take pictures of what we have done. With this project I went out and took photo’s at two different locations. One spot was the Imagination Station and the park that is located beside it. The pictures that I took here were mostly observation pictures. The second location was a run down building in the downtown area. This building had so many interesting things that I had to take pictures of it, most of which were interaction.

Typography Project 2

With this project we were to take two different letter forms and combine them in a letter form. When I did this it was very hard to start with. The letters I ended up picking were & and S. I did this because I felt they followed together very nicely. When placing them on the side it almost seemed like a creature of some sorts. Then we were told to crop an area within the figure. I feel that my image zoom in was far more better than the original pair. We also changed the colors to complement each other.

Photography History of Things

Within this project  we were told to find items that were dear to us and take photographs of them. They are to be placed in places that are interesting visual and mentally. My Items were four little butterflies and flower pins and a pearl necklace. The necklace was my mothers grandmothers necklace. She was a very large woman with a great love for expensive jewelry. They were passed to my grandmother then to my mother and one day to me. They are very beautiful and elegant. The pins were my fathers grandmothers pins. She wore them on her wedding day along the side of her dress. Her nick name was butterfly so it was her wedding gift from her father.

Photography 24 Hour

Within this project we were told to document 24 hours of our lives with a camera. Take pictures of the things around us as well as the things we do. Here are just a few photos that I took with a bit of writing that I wrote when I took the pictures.
